Bismarck, ND : Two injured in crash near Jamestown on Friday, March 10th 2017
Two 15-year-old girls were injured Friday in a crash on Interstate 94 near Jamestown, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
A 15-year-old West Fargo, N.D., girl was driving a 2013 Ford Fiesta east on I-94 at 5:20 p.m. about a half-mile west of Jamestown when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the south ditch, the patrol said. The patrol said the driver overcorrected the vehicle and it struck a support pole for an exit sign.
The driver and passenger were transported by Jamestown Area Ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center. The driver was flown to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The patrol said distracted driving is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department and Jamestown Fire Department also responded.
