HUNNEWELL, MO : Quincy woman injured in crash south of Hunnewell on Thursday, January 5th 2017

A Quincy, Ill., woman was injured in a Thursday afternoon crash south of Hunnewell.

The Missouri State Highway patrol reported that a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Kimberly L. Mayfield, 19, was traveling west on County Road 390 two miles south of Hunnewell when she swerved to avoid another vehicle, slid on an ice-covered road, left the right side of the road and struck a tree. The crash occurred at 2:32 p.m

Mayfield, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Monroe County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The patrol was assisted by the Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Monroe County Ambulance and the Monroe County Fire Department.
