Wimauma, FL : Juan Heredia, 46, killed in hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Maggie Drive and State Road 674 in Wimauma on Saturday morning, August 23, 2014

Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's assistance in locating a driver that fled a fatal hit and run crash Saturday morning near the intersection of Maggie Dr. and State Road 674 in Wimauma. Juan Heredia, 46, was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he later died. The deceased was laying in the roadway when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. Heredia suffered a serious head injury and the driver did not stop to render assistance. The report states Heredia may have been impaired as investigators discovered he was carrying drug paraphernalia at the time. No vehicle description is available at this time.
