Fishtown, PA : Female Driver Dead After Car Crashes Into SEPTA Trolley Thursday afternoon in the Fishtown section of the city on May 1st 2014

One person is dead after a car was crushed in a collision with a trolley on Delaware Avenue in the city's Fishtown section Thursday afternoon.

It was around 1:00 p.m. when police and paramedics were called out to the intersection of Frankford and Delaware avenues.

SEPTA officials say the Route 15 trolley had pulled out of a loop when it collided with the car head-on.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chopper 6 was over the scene shortly after the accident, where our camera captured a vehicle partially crushed by the trolley.

There were approximately 6 or 7 passengers on the trolley at the time of the accident and one is claiming injuries.
