Springfield, IL :woman was killed in a car crash at frontage road on Wednesday August 10th, 2016

A Lincoln woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 55 south of Springfield, Illinois State Police said.

Police say at 1:49 p.m., Talona Marten, 38, was a passenger in a car driven by David Marten, 45, also of Lincoln, which was southbound and pulling a travel trailer near milepost 84. The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle which left the roadway to the right, overturned and came to rest near a frontage road.

Talona Marten was pronounced dead at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, according to a press release from ISP.

David Marten and a 3-year-old child passenger were taken by ambulance to Memorial for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
