Lee County, FL : One dead in crash on I-75 in Lee County on Saturday, 21st March, 2020

A New York man was killed Saturday night after he lost control of his SUV on Interstate 75 near the Bayshore Road overpass.

Florida Highway Patrol said Marlon Palma, 26, of Copiague, on Long Island, was driving a 2004 Honda Pilot south on I-75 in the left lane, near the 143 mile marker.Palma's SUV veered off the roadway about 10:40 p.m., entered the left paved shoulder and side-swiped the center median guardrail.

The vehicle then veered back onto the roadway, crossing all three lanes of I-75 and traveled off the road on the right shoulder, overturning on the west grass shoulder.

An FHP report said Palma, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the SUV and died at the scene.
