Bismarck, ND : Two injured in crash near Valley City on April, Saturday 8th 2017
Two Valley City residents were injured Saturday in Barnes County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Joshua Brouse, 34, and his passenger Kristine Brouse, 32, were westbound on Interstate 94 in a 1999 Chevrolet S10 pickup when the crash occurred at 3:24 p.m. near mile marker 290 about 1 mile west of Valley City, the patrol said. The truck had just passed another vehicle when a strong wind caused the unloaded flatbed trailer they were pulling to lose control and slide into the north ditch where it overturned multiple times.
The driver suffered minor injuries and the passenger was ejected, suffering serious injuries, the patrol said. Both occupants were transported by County City Ambulance Services to CHI Mercy Hospital in Valley City, and the passenger was later flown to a Fargo hospital, the patrol said.
Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.
Driving conditions were dry and clear with 20 mph winds, the patrol said. The crash is under Investigation.
Barnes County Sheriff's Department, Valley City Police Department and Valley City Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.
