Single-car crash kills 1 east of Devils Lake North Dakota

A rollover crash on Hwy. 2, just a half mile east of Devils Lake, killed one on Thursday morning.At approximately 3 a.m., the driver, 29, who was alone at the time of the crash and was driving a white 1997 Ford F-150 approaching Devils Lake, veared momentarily to the right and off the highway blacktop, sending the vehicle into the north ditch.After attempting to correct the vehicle’s direction by steering left back toward the highway, the victim lost control of the vehicle and entered the north ditch, where the vehicle struck a field approach.The vehicle then became airbourne after striking the field approach and rolled one time into a drainage ditch, which ejected the driver on impact. The vehicle came to a final rest facing southeast on its wheels.Total damage was sustained to the vehicle.The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
