Dickinson, N.D : Minot man killed in a car crash on Interstate 94 west of Dickinson on Wednesday, November 16, 2016

A Minot man was killed in a car crash Wednesday on Interstate 94 west of Dickinson, N.D., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Jules Wyum, 76, was driving a 2013 Kia Sportage westbound on I-94 from Dickinson when Ashlynn Dietz, 20, Beach, N.D., rear-ended him in the left lane with a 1992 Buick Century, the patrol said.

Both vehicles were significantly damaged, and Wyum, Dietz and Dietz’s infant child were transported to CHI St. Alexius in Dickinson, the patrol said. Wyum was declared deceased at the hospital.

Dietz was wearing a seat belt, and her child was in a car seat. It is unknown if Wyum was wearing a seat belt.

The patrol is investigating the crash.
