Walhalla, SC : Seneca man died in a single-vehicle collision near Walhalla on Sunday night, June 21, 2015

A Seneca man died Sunday night in a single-vehicle collision near Walhalla, according to the coroner.

Two other people were taken to the Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officials have not released their condition.

The collision occurred on Pickens Highway at 7:40 p.m., the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

Coroner Karl Addis said 28-year-old Timothy Mark Hoover was a passenger in a car traveling South toward Walhalla when the driver ran onto the right shoulder and lost control.

The vehicle struck a guardrail and overturned, according to the coroner.

Hoover was in the back seat and was wearing a seat belt , Addis said.

He died at the scene from blunt force head trauma, Addis said.

A post mortem exam will be ordered to assist with documenting his injuries.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating this crash.
