Montgomery,AL : Wrongful death lawsuit filed in crash that killed toddler, Montgomery man on June, Tuesday 6th 2017
A wrongful death lawsuit was recently filed on behalf of family members of a toddler and a 55-year-old man killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer that occurred in Macon County.
The Montgomery-based Beasley Allen Law Firm filed a lawsuit in Macon County against Wooden Products Transportation Corp., a Montgomery-based freight shipping and trucking company, and Ryder Truck Rental.
Angel Zaragoza, 16 months of Hapeville, Ga., and Roberto Linares, 55, of Montgomery were killed in a three-vehicle crash on March 10 on Interstate 85 in Macon County.
Alabama state troopers said a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer struck a 2001 Toyota Sienna, which then caused the Toyota to hit a 2014 Ford Focus.
The fatal victims were passengers in the 2001 Toyota Sienna. Linares wasn't wearing a seat belt, but the toddler was in a child-restraint seat.
Bertha Zaragoza, who was driving the Toyota van, and passengers Juana Sambrano and Iluminda Linares-Zaragoza were injured in the crash.
The lawsuit alleges traffic in front of the Toyota had slowed down due to another traffic crash. A state trooper was at the scene of that crash.
The driver of the Toyota slowed her speed to around 25 to 30 miles per hour, according to lawsuit
