Fort Myers,FL : Eight people, four under 13, injured in two-SUV crash at Lehigh Acres intersection on December, Sunday 17th 2017
Eight people, four under age 13, involved in a two-SUV crash in Lehigh Acres on Sunday suffered mostly minor injuries except for two passengers.
The two SUVs, a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and a 2015 Chevy Equinox, collided shortly before 3 p.m. at the intersection of Parkdale Boulevard and South Homestead Road.
The Cherokee, driven by Robert Santana, 24, of Lehigh Acres failed to stop for a stop sign as he drove west on Parkdale. His SUV was hit on the left side by the front of the Equinox, driven north on Homestead by Andres Ledezma-Gonzalez, 45, of Immokalee.
The Cherokee flipped over onto its left side after the crash.
Santana and a passenger suffered only minor injuries.
Ledezma-Gonzalez and four of six passengers also suffered only minor injuries. Two others in the Equinox, a 10-year-old girl, and a seventeen-year-old male, suffered serious injuries and were airlifted from the scene to Lee Memorial Hospital.
