HARFORD COUNTY, MD : Port Deposit woman killed in Harford County crash on Monday, 7th January 2019

An investigation is continuing after a Cecil County woman was struck and killed by a vehicle near Edgewood early Monday morning, according to the Maryland State Police.

Investigators identified Jaydirah Paige Ray, 22, of Port Deposit, as the victim, police said. Ray was pronounced dead at the crash scene, police added

Troopers assigned to the Bel Air Barrack responded to an area near the intersection of Emmorton and Edgewood roads shortly after 6 a.m., after receiving a report of a pedestrian-related crash, according to Ron Snyder, an MSP spokesman assigned to agency headquarters in Pikesville.

Based on the preliminary investigation, Ray was struck by a passing vehicle while she was attempting to cross Emmorton Road from the center median, Snyder said. After the first vehicle struck her, Snyder added, a second vehicle that was traveling on Edgewood Road also hit Ray, who was lying on the road.
