Pensacola, FL : Motorcyclist in serious condition after crash near Cervantes on Wednesday afternoon, February 1, 2017

A 68-year-old Pensacola man is in serious but stable condition after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a Jeep Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 2:40 p.m. near the intersection of North N and West Cervantes streets, according to a release from the Pensacola Police Department.

Emmett Stromas was riding his motorcycle northbound on N Street and had stopped at a stop sign near Cervantes. He was attempting to make a right-hand turn when he pulled in front of a Jeep Wrangler driven by William Allen, 55, of Pensacola. The two collided, and Allen was not injured.

Stromas was issued a citation for failure to yield right-of-way, according to the PPD’s release.

Cervantes Street was blocked to motorists from the time of the crash until almost 4:30 p.m.
