OTTUMWA, IA : Name released from Thursday fatal crash on Thursday, September 14, 2017

A Fairfield resident was killed Thursday in a one-vehicle crash near Ottumwa.

The Wapello County Sheriff’s Department said a call about the crash came in at 1 a.m. Thursday. The caller said the crash was on Highway 63 northeast of Ottumwa. When deputies arrived they found a 1997 Isuzu trooper upside down in the median.

The vehicle had only one occupant: Leslie Palmer Lane, 59. Lane was pronounced dead at the scene.
