Upton, MA :1 Killed, 3 Hurt in Head-on 2-Car Crash on Thursday, July 9th 2015

One person has died and three were injured Thursday in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Upton, Massachusetts.The crash happened around 9 p.m. in the area of 252 Milford St.Police say a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 24-year-old Molly Anderson of Northbridge, and a Dodge Caravan driven by 63-year-old Antonio Peneda collided at 257 Milford St. The road was closed briefly after the crash.Both operators had to be extricated from their vehicles with the use of Jaws of Life. Anderson was rused to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.Peneda suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center.Two pasengers in Peneda's vehicle, a 53-year-old woman and a juvenile female were also injured in the crash and were taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center as well.Because of the weather, none of the victims could be airlifted.Police are working to determine the cause of the crash.
