RUTHTON, MN : Hanley Falls couple injured in crash near Ruthton on Sunday, 2nd September 2018

A Hanley Falls man suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday and his passenger also was injured in a crash near Ruthton.

Bernard Bart Heck, 61, was transported to a hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, according to the State Patrol.Passenger Kathleen Marie Heck, 60, of Hanley Falls, suffered what were described as non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital in Tyler.

According to the report, the two were in a 1994 Ford pickup about 1:30 p.m. Sunday on state Highway 23 near Ruthton when the driver apparently lost control and the vehicle entered the east ditch, then came back up onto the roadway and rolled, coming to rest in the west ditch.

Both were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor.

Pipestone County Ambulance, Tyler Ambulance, and Ruthton Fire and First Responders assisted on the scene.
