Houston, TX : Two dead in icy Parks Highway crash near Houston on Saturday, 25th January, 2020

Two people died Saturday in an icy crash on the Parks Highway near Houston, according to an online alert from state troopers.

Troopers were called to an area near Mile 61 around 2:30 p.m. A mid-2000s two-door coupe was northbound when the car’s driver lost control on icy pavement and slid into the oncoming lane of traffic, troopers said. A pickup truck in the southbound lane was unable to stop or avoid crashing into the car, troopers wrote.

A man and a woman in the car both died at the scene. They will be identified by the medical examiner’s office, troopers said.
