Cambridge, OH : Man dies in St. Clairsville drainage pipe after I-70 accident Sunday morning, February 26, 2017
A man who allegedly fled the scene of a two-vehicle accident Sunday morning on Interstate 70 was later found dead inside a drainage pipe after several hours of negotiations with Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers trying to get him to exit the pipe.
Authorities have not released the name of the suspect who is not believed to be an Ohio Valley resident.
The suspect was reportedly in his 20s.
According to reports, a vehicle driven by the deceased male collided with another vehicle at approximately 11:30 a.m. Sunday near mile post 221 on I-70. The collision reportedly resulted in minor damage to both vehicles.
The driver, who remained at the scene, reportedly watched the unidentified male run away and provided state troopers with his direction of travel.
