Effingham County, IL: One injured in 2-vehicle crash in Effingham County on Wednesday, August 5th 2015

Illinois State Police say one person was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 57 Wednesday morning.Authorities say the preliminary investigation reveals that a 2012 Peterbilt was traveling southbound on I-57 near mile post 162 in the construction zone when it was struck by a 2010 Dodge pickup attempting to merge onto I-57. Police say the driver of the Dodge told troopers that he thought he had enough clearance between the two vehicles.ISP officials say the driver of the Peterbilt was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.The driver of the Dodge was cited for failure to yield.This incident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
