Jackson, OH : State Highway Patrol investigates an injury crash on Sunday, 11th September 2016
The Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle injury crash Sunday night at 7:43 p.m. on State Route 327 south of Wellston.
Brian Fisher, 47, of Wellston was driving a 2001 Buick southbound on State Route 327 when he failed to negotiate a curve going off the right side of the roadway. He overcorrected left going off the left side of the roadway where he struck an embankment backwards. His vehicle went airborne traveling approximately 70 feet then struck a tree in mid-air. The vehicle fell out of the tree coming to rest on its wheels in the ditch.
Fisher was taken from the scene by Jackson County EMS with minor visible injuries to Holzer Medical Center of Jackson. He was then flown from Holzer to Grant Hospital in Columbus by MedFlight for precautionary reasons.
The roadway was closed for approximately one hour with the Wellston Fire Department on scene assisting with traffic control.
Fisher was cited for failure to control, driving under suspension and driving under the influence.
