WEST PEORIA, IL : One man is dead after a two-vehicle accident on Kickapoo Creek on Friday, October, 27th 2017

One man is dead after a two-vehicle accident on Kickapoo Creek Road on Friday afternoon, Peoria County sheriff’s deputies said.

Two vehicles collided about a half-mile south of West Farmington Road at 12:09 p.m., a deputy said.

A male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 24-year-old female pregnant driver was taken to the hospital. Neither driver’s identity has been released, and the woman’s condition and that of her unborn baby weren’t known.

According to the sheriff’s department, the woman’s car was headed south on Kickapoo Creek Road and the man’s car was northbound.

Debris littered the roadway. One of the vehicles, a greenish-blue SUV was off to one side of the road, its front end dented. The other vehicle, a small, red passenger car, wound up on the other side of the road. Its entire front end was smashed in. Firefighters had to extricate the driver out of that vehicle.

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
