A Newport News school bus was involved in a crash Tuesday morning, officials said.

The bus was rear-ended by another vehicle about 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Warwick and Ft. Eustis boulevards, according to police spokeswoman Jamie Bastas.

No students were on board bus 153 as the driver was just starting the morning route when it happened, according to school division spokeswoman Michelle Price.

The bus driver was stopping, as required, at the railroad crossing on Fort Eustis Boulevard near the post entrance, when a car hit the back of the bus, Price said.

The crash caused just minor damage to the bus, Price said, and the other vehicle has front-end damage.

No injuries were reported.
