Everett, WA : Woman was died and male passenger is seriously injured in high- speed race crash on Friday October 10th 2014.
A Washington State Patrol trooper says a woman has died and her male passenger is seriously injured after what a witness described as a high-speed race on Interstate 5 north of Seattle ended with one vehicle crashing into a tree.
The driver of a second vehicle reportedly stopped, backed up and looked at the crash scene Friday afternoon, then drove off. Troopers are looking for that vehicle.
The Daily Herald of Everett reports the case is being investigated as a potential vehicular homicide.
Francis says the dead driver was a 24-year-old woman who apparently lost control of her blue Corvette in the northbound I-5 lanes in Everett. Both she and the passenger were ejected. The 31-year-old passenger was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
