Hollywood, FL : 2 people injured in crash involving utility pole at Young Circle on Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015

Two people were injured when a vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Hollywood's Young Circle early Tuesday morning.

According to Hollywood police, the driver of the car was pinned inside for about 15 minutes.

Firefighters were forced to use the Jaws of Life to rescue him, but he appeared alert as he was loaded into an ambulance.
The passenger in the car escaped with minor injuries.

Both were taken to a nearby hospital, but information about their conditions has not been released.

The crash did not appear to affect traffic in the area.
