Louisville, KY : One person dead after multi-vehicle crash on Dixie Highway on Monday morning, February 9, 2015

One person has died after a multi-vehicle accident Monday morning that shut down part of Dixie Highway near Katherine Station Road for several hours.

Conner Kelty, 20, died Monday evening at University hospital, according to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Rita Taylor.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Monday morning near the Ohio Valley Speedway.

Kelty was injured in the wreck and rushed to University Hospital in critical condition. A helicopter had been requested to get him to the hospital but an ambulance was used instead due to fog in the area.

Kelty died later of Blunt force trauma, according to Deputy Coroner Taylor.

An LMPD spokesperson said Monday that five vehicles were involved in the crash, one of which went over the guard rail – that was not Kelty's car.

Taylor says Kelty died of multiple blunt force trauma.

Funeral arrangements are still pending.
