Waynesboro, VA : Augusta man dies in Waynesboro car crash on Jack Delaigle Road near Highway 23 on Monday, 3rd February, 2020

An Augusta man died after a car crash in Waynesboro on Monday night.

Gregory Calvin Wilson, 68, died at Burke Medical Center after the single-vehicle crash on Jack Delaigle Road near Highway 23. According to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Wilson is believed to have suffered a medical emergency causing him to leave the road.

Deputies and EMS responded around 7:30 p.m. to the scene and found the car in a ditch on fire with Wilson unresponsive inside. Fire/EMS Lt. Kyle Tiller, Private Brett Ivey and Deputy Brittany Nelson removed Wilson from the car, a release states.

According to the sheriff’s office, Wilson was a Plant Vogtle employee.
