Colona,CO : Head-on collision closes Carpenter Road on Tuesday, 12th May, 2020

A head-on crash on a curve in foggy conditions Tuesday morning injured three people — one seriously — and closed Carpenter Road just west of Larimer County Road 9.

According to a Fort Collins police news release, the crash happened at 6:01 a.m. when a 1994 Subaru Legacy driven by a 22-year-old male was traveling westbound on Carpenter Road (Colorado Highway 392). It struck the side of a 2012 Ford F350 driven by a 37-year-old male that was traveling eastbound.

The Subaru spun and collided with a 2008 Audi A4 driven by a 34-year-old male that was traveling eastbound.

An ambulance was seen leaving the crash site about 6:20 a.m. The driver of the Subaru was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland with injuries that appeared to be life-threatening, according to the news release. The other drivers suffered injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

Due to the severity of the crash, the Fort Collins Police CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to investigate the incident.
