ZEARING, IA : A serious crash in Story County on Monday, October, 9th 2017
Emergency crews were called to a serious crash in Story County Monday morning.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. at Highway 65 near West Main Street in Zearing.
Officials at the scene told KCCI 8 News that a driver was trying to pass a semi in a no passing lane. The driver swerved to avoid an oncoming car and the vehicle rolled into a ditch. The driver was ejected, but he was conscious and talking to safety crews before he was taken to a hospital via helicopter.
Officials said he is in serious but stable condition. His identity has not been released. No one else was injured in the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
