Loveland, CO : Motorcyclist injured in a crash in northeast Loveland on Tuesday, July 26, 2016

A motorcycle rider was seriously injured Tuesday in a crash that police believe could have been caused by excessive speed.

The rider, who was not identified, was traveling west in the 1600 block of Park Drive in northeast Loveland when he lost control on a curve and crashed.

The road was closed to a single lane for about 90 minutes while police investigated, according to a release from the Loveland Police Department.

While speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, drugs and alcohol are not suspected, the release stated.
