A 17-year-old is dead following a one-vehicle crash on Oneida County C on Saturday evening.

At 11:41 p.m. Saturday, a caller contacted the Wood County Dispatch Center reported the caller's 17-year-old child had not returned from a drive to town, according to police. The caller asked deputies to help find the teenager.

Deputies found the vehicle the teenager was driving near Oneida County C and Tenderfoot Road, Stella, according to a news release. The vehicle had rolled into a ditch area.

Deputies found the 17-year-old child, who had been ejected from the vehicle, dead in the shoulder area of the road, according to the news release. An initial investigation found the vehicle had hit a shoulder on the road, over corrected, and went into the opposite lane of traffic, hitting several trees and overturning, according to the release.
