Providence, RI : New Bedford woman killed in Westport rollover on Friday, 4th November 2016

A New Bedford woman was killed early this morning and her five passengers injured when the compact car they were traveling in on Interstate 195 in Westport struck a jersey barrier and rolled across the highway.

The driver, Cassandra M. Camacho, 25, of New Bedford, was thrown from the 2006 Honda Civic and pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.

Five passengers police identified as three men ages 19, 26, and 30, and two women ages 18 and 23, all of New Bedford, were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Police said their injuries are not life-threatening.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-195 shortly after 3:10 a.m.

The cause is under investigation.
