Forrest City, AR : Three people killed in wrecks on state roads on Saturday, April 9, 2016

An ATV accident and two single-vehicle wrecks killed three people in Arkansas over the weekend, according to Arkansas State Police.

A rear wheel detached from a Polaris ATV that was westbound on a St. Francis County road about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a police report. The driver, James Bonds, 37, of Forrest City, and passenger Kimberly Wilson-Bass, 30, of Little Rock, were thrown from the ATV. Wilson-Bass died, and Bonds was taken to Forrest City Medical Center for treatment.

In an accident in Garland County at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Dayton Garner, 22, of Hot Springs was killed and Austin Meeks, 20, of Hot Springs was injured when the westbound Chevrolet that Meeks was driving left the road and struck a tree, according to a police report.

Garner died at the scene, and Meeks was transported to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs.

A light rain was falling at the time of the crash, police said.

A Blytheville man died in a one-car wreck in Mississippi County about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a police report.

Drewe Kelley, 18, of Blytheville overcorrected after leaving the pavement on Mississippi County Road 230 east of Arkansas 18. The southbound 1997 GMC crossed both lanes of traffic and hit a ditch, killing Kelley, the report said.

Conditions were clear and dry at the time of the wreck, police said.
