Carbondale, IL : Mississippi man injured in crash on I-57 in Williamson County on Saturday, November 19th 2016
A Mississippi man was injured at 8:26 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, after a traffic accident on Interstate 57 in Williamson County, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police District 13.
A 2007 Freightliner semi-trailer, driven by Jerry W. Ingram, 33, of Oakfield, Tennessee, struck the rear of a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Mark T. King of Houston, Mississippi. The Chevy then left the northbound roadway, entered the median and overturned near mile post 55, according to police.
King, 48, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and later transferred by helicopter to a regional hospital. Police said he suffered major injuries. King's passenger, John A. King, 45, and also of Houston, Mississippi was uninjured. The driver of the semi-trailer was also uninjured.
No charges were issued.
