Saugus ,MA :US Route 1 South closed after fatal dump truck rollover crash on Wednesday , May 13th 2015

A fatal truck accident closed U.S. Route 1 southbound in Saugus for more than two hours, snarling late afternoon traffic on the busy road into Boston.

State police said the driver of a dump truck was killed when it rolled over on the highway at about 2 p.m. Wednesday near Walnut Street.

Police reopened all lanes around 5 p.m.

While the accident was being investigated, police also closed the ramp from Route 129 to southbound Route 1 and the turnaround jughandle on northbound Route 1 to divert traffic.
