GENESEO, NY : Two-car crash, injuries one and kills one; man taken into custody on Sunday, 12th September 2016
Authorities say a man is dead after his car was hit by another vehicle driven by a western New York man who’s accused of punching a sheriff’s deputy responding to the crash.
Police in Geneseo say the crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. Sunday on state Route 39 in the Livingston County village located 25 miles south of Rochester.
Officers say 28-year-old Michael Bellonte of nearby Avon hit another vehicle heading in the same direction, causing it to spin out and crash.
The driver of the car that was hit died at the scene. His passenger was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Their names haven’t been released.
Police say Bellonte fought with police who responded to the accident. He was taken to a Rochester hospital. Police say he’s facing charges.
It couldn’t be determined if Bellonte has a lawyer.
