Phoenix, AZ : Fatal crash kills pedestrian in Phoenix near the intersection of 21st Street and Bell Road on Saturday, 24th August 2019 6 hours ago

A man was killed Saturday evening after being struck by a pick-up truck near the intersection of 21st Street and Bell Road.

Police say a 28-year-old man was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Bell Road when he struck Manuel Araiza, 54, whom the driver said he didn't see until just before hitting him at around 11:04 p.m.

Araiza was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The pick-up truck's driver remained at the scene and deemed not impaired.

The investigation remains ongoing.
