TORRANCE, CA : Winnetka motorcyclist killed in Torrance crash on Tuesday, 13th October, 2020

Authorities on Tuesday identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with an SUV in Torrance.

Arthur Maloles, 44, of Winnetka died about 3:20 p.m. Monday at Hawthorne and Lomita boulevards, according to the coroner’s office and the Torrance Police Department.

Maloles was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, near Lomita Boulevard, when the driver of a southbound Ford Escape made a left turn, causing the motorcyclist to collide with the vehicle, said Torrance police Sgt. Alexander Martinez.

The 56-year-old driver of the Ford Escape escaped injury, and investigators do not believe she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to Martinez. Her name was not released.
