Torrance,CA : Motorcyclist hurt in Torrance crash that shuts down Hawthorne Boulevard on December, Sunday 24th 2017

The northbound lanes of Hawthorne Boulevard at the center of Torrance were shut down Sunday evening following a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist, police said.

Details of the crash were not immediately available.

The collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle occurred about 5:45 p.m. on Hawthorne Boulevard at Emerald Street, Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris said.

The male motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Police closed the northbound lanes of Hawthorne from Torrance Boulevard to Emerald and advised motorists to avoid the area. The street reopened shortly before 9 p.m.
