7 die in head-on collision on near Phoenix Arizona

Seven people died in a crash on Interstate 10 after a semitrailer truck crossed the highway's median and struck a van.
The crash happened near the Burnt Wells Area, west of Tonopah around 11 a.m. Sunday.
Carrick Cook, a spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety, said the driver of the semitrailer truck and his wife survived and were taken to the hospital. Seven others in the van died in the accident.

Cook said the vehicles caught fire after the force of the crash pushed them into a culvert.The identities and hometowns of those who died in the crash weren't immediately released.Cook said the van was registered to someone from western Arizona.
