NORTHFIELD, CT : Four transported following head-on crash in Northfield on Monday, 3rd February, 2020

Four people were taken to the hospital as a result of a head-on collision on Route 10 near the Connecticut River bridge Monday evening.

Northfield Police Officer Oleg Coileanschi investigated the accident, which closed Route 10 to traffic for an hour and an half after being reported at around 5:35 p.m.

According to Coileanschi, a woman driving a red 2018 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling eastbound on Route 10 when her vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a 2010 Honda Civic head-on. There were three people — two females and one male — in the Civic.

“It was originally called in as an erratic operator, which was the Equinox, and the caller then reported a crash,” Coileanschi said.
