Rapid City, SD : 19-year-old woman dead and five injured in a single-vehicle wreck on Sheridan Lake Road early Tuesday, April 12, 2016
A 19-year-old woman was killed and several other young adults and a juvenile were injured in a single-vehicle wreck on Sheridan Lake Road south of Rapid City early today.
The accident happened around 12:25 a.m. today about five miles south of Rapid City when a 2003 Ford F-350 pickup that was northbound left the winding roadway and went into the east ditch where it rolled over, the South Dakota Highway Patrol said.
The 19-year-old woman died at the scene; three female passengers, a male passenger and the 19-year-old man who was driving suffered minor injuries in the wreck, the patrol said. None of the names of those involved has been released by the patrol as of mid-morning today.
Charges are likely against the driver, and none of the occupants was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said. The investigation into the wreck is ongoing, the patrol said.
