St. Johnsbury, VT : 22-year-old Peter Lavoie died in single-car crash on Severance Hill Road on Saturday, March 5, 2016

Vermont state police say a man is dead after his car crashed into a tree in St. Johnsbury.

Authorities say 22-year-old Peter Lavoie of Concord, Vermont, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4 a.m. crash on Severance Hill Road on Saturday.

Police say Lavoie was travelling south when his vehicle went off the side of the road and into a tree. He was the only person in the car. Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
