Wyoming, PA : Man dies of injuries in motorcycle crash in Luzerne County on Saturday, July 2, 2016

A man who was in critical condition following a wreck on Wyoming Avenue has died, Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis confirmed Wednesday.

Daniel Rebovich, 60, of Exeter, was riding his motorcycle north on Wyoming Avenue in the area of Sixth Street around 8:34 p.m. Saturday. A Toyota Corolla, operated by Irene Zelinski, 91, was traveling south on Wyoming Avenue. Zelinski attempted to turn left onto Sixth Street and the two vehicles collided in the northbound lane of Wyoming Avenue.

Police said Rebovich was not wearing a helmet and was unresponsive at the scene of the crash. He was transported to the trauma center at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.

Rebovich died as a result of the injuries he suffered in the crash, the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office said Wednesday.

Emergency responders closed Wyoming Avenue in both directions for three hours following the crash.
