Albany, OR : Highway 226 near Lyons reopens after crash on February, Wednesday 7th 2018
Highway 226, the Albany-Lyons Highway, now is open for travel. Repairs to the power pole damaged in a crash were completed by 4 a.m. Wednesday.
The road was closed overnight at milepost 18 following a crash of a lumber truck Tuesday.
Highway 226 is closed about seven miles west of Lyons currently while crews work to remove an overturned log truck that struck a power pole.
According to the Oregon State Police, the crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 226 and Jordan Road.
A full-sized commercial motor vehicle hauling lumber was headed west when it failed to make the corner, overturned and struck a power pole. The driver was not hurt.
