Lynchburg, VA : Two hospitalized after Langhorne Road crash on Thursday, 20th October 2016

Two people were transported to a hospital following a four-vehicle crash on Langhorne Road on Thursday afternoon.

Lynchburg Police Officer M.D. Bauserman said the crash occurred at 12:24 p.m. Bauserman said a 2008 Toyota Camry driven by 88-year-old Ethel Gilbert, of Lynchburg, rear-ended a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. Bauserman said Gilbert backed up, striking a 2006 Ford Explorer, before pulling forward again and striking the Mercury a second time. Gilbert then struck a gray pick-up truck and a Verizon pole, according to Bauserman. He said the pick-up fled the scene of the crash.

Bauserman said Gilbert and her passenger were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital with minor injuries. She is charged with reckless driving.
