Lebanon, ME : Six injured in three-vehicle crash on Carl Broggi Highway in Lebanon Saturday afternoon, November 15, 2014
Six people were transported to hospitals after a three-vehicle crash on Carl Broggi Highway Saturday afternoon.
A 2010 GMC pickup was stopped on the highway waiting to turn left into Train’s Quick Stop at 4:45 p.m., when a 2004 Toyota pickup also traveling east ran into the back of the GMC, according to a statement released by the Lebanon Fire Department. The impact sent the GMC into the path of a 2012 Kia SUV. The Kia and the GMC hit head on.
The driver of the Toyota was momentarily distracted before the crash, according to Assistant Fire Chief Daniel Roy.
The driver of the GMC was trapped inside the pickup, and had to be extracted using the Jaws of Life, Roy said in the statement.
Five patients were transported to Southern Maine Health Center’s Sanford Campus, while another patient was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. None of the injuries were considered life threatening, according to Roy.
Lebanon, North Berwick and Sanford Rescue all assisted at the scene.
