Nashville, TN : Three people injured after a fiery, four-vehicle crash in Hickman County on Tuesday, September 27, 2016

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 in Hickman County are closed after a fiery, four-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 40 near the Dickson County line, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

I-40 traffic is being diverted at exit 143, said THP spokesperson Sgt. Travis Plotzer.

The crash occurred about 2 a.m at mile marker 159 and involved a passenger vehicle traveling the wrong way on the interstate, Plotzer said.

The crash involved two commercial vehicles and two passengers vehicles, he said. The two commercial vehicles caught fire in the explosion.

Plotzer said three people were transported to the hospital,

The wreckage from the crash is not expected to clear until 4 p.m., according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
