Mercedes, TX : Woman dies in fatal rollover crash on North Baseline Road and Mile 13 North on Wednesday night, Sep 30, 2015

A woman died after her car rolled over and landed inside an irrigation canal Wednesday night north of Mercedes, according to spokesman Sgt. Johnny Hernandez of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Investigators at the scene believe the one-vehicle crash occurred about 6:04 p.m. on North Baseline Road and Mile 13 North, when the female driver of a silver 2001 Mercury car traveling southbound on Baseline Road lost control of the vehicle and veered to the west side of the roadway.
The driver overcorrected and went into a side skid, causing the car to rollover and land inside an irrigation canal. No other passengers were inside the car at the time of the crash and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The next of kin had not been notified at the time of this report.
