Georgetown,TX : Car flew into creek below during deadly Georgetown crash in I-35 median on January, Tuesday 9th 2018
A 34-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash into Berry Creek near the northbound Interstate 35 exit to State Highway 195.
Capt. Roland Waits with Georgetown police says the crash happened in the 3200 block of North I-35, north of Georgetown, just after 4 p.m. Investigators say a Toyota Camry was in the northbound outside lane of I-35 driving at normal speed when it appeared to miss the exit.
The vehicle was then seen driving off the road into the median to cross onto the northbound frontage road. Because guardrails kept the vehicle from crossing onto the frontage, the driver continued in the median and did not slow down. One witness said it appeared the driver was unaware of the bridge ahead and thought he could drive until he could access the frontage road.

Police say the vehicle eventually drove off the concrete ledge and launched through the air, rotating and landing on its roof upside down in the water. The occupants were stuck in their seats underwater due to the roof being crushed.
First responders and witnesses entered the water and were able to free the three from the wreckage.
Of the three people in the vehicle, Derrick Kennie — the driver — was pronounced dead at the scene and two passengers were taken to Seton Medical Center Williamson with CPR in progress.
At last report, they were in surgery listed in critical condition.
TxDOT was warning drivers that Exit 266 for SH 195 and the northbound access road were closed following the crash.
